Over the last few decades the financial services industry has been the subject of high profile mis-selling allegations. In the 80’s it was pensions, in the 90’s Endowments and in the last decade shares and structured products have stolen the headlines.
It has become apparent that many regulated financial services firms have fallen well short of the rules and regulations which were implemented to ensure transparency and consumer protection.
Tens of 1000’s of UK investors have suffered a financial loss as a result of these rule breaches and investors are well within their rights to seek financial redress if they have been a victim of a firm’s negligence.
The channels for redress vary depending on whether the firm is still trading or not. For more information about the redress channels click here.

Many UK consumers have been introduced to more exotic products than individual company shares. Once again, the FSA rules and Principles for Business will apply. If you have purchased shares, options on shares, warrants, Contracts for Differences (CFD’s) or any other investment purchased as a result of regulated advice, please contact us to see if you may be entitled to compensation.
Structured Products
Structured Products are often quite complex investment vehicles. They may consist of a collection of insurance policies or endowments where the original purchaser no longer wishes to keep paying the premiums of the policy and they are sold on to other investors to maintain the premiums and ultimately receive the sum assured. They may also include re-packaged ‘toxic debt’ and will often include an element of ‘gearing’ or borrowing. These products are not suitable for every investor and they require specialist knowledge of the product and the product provider. There have also been instances of alleged money laundering and fraud involving the very providers of such products.
If you would like an independent, specialist appraisal of your structured product or indeed any other investment you have purchased as a result of regulated advice, please speak to us.
